Memorial Day Weekend Campout
Near Buena Vista, about 90 miles south from
Denver, at the top of Trout Creek Pass , about 12 miles before you get to
Buena Vista.
We will be cooking burgers and dogs Saturday night. Bring a
side dish of some sort to help out.
This is an area we have been to several
times before. There are many trails, as you can see on the map, with
many different levels of riding. It has everything from easy trails to some
harder rock climbing trails. Directions and signs to look for are
attached. I will also have signs on the road in so you can find me. If you
are coming please let me know by May 18th so we can get enough burgers for
everyone, and we will have enough room for campers. You can reach me at this
email or by phone if you have any questions. 303-809-4944. If you can't come
for the weekend come up for a day. I usually leave on rides between nine and
ten.
Take
285 south out of Denver. If you are coming from the Springs take
hwy 24 to 285 and go left about a mile.
You
get off 285 at the top of Trout Creek
Pass
go
right on CR. 311. it's about a mile past the HWY 24 turnoff . Slow down
as you get near the top of the pass as the
turn is at the top. It's a dirt road, follow it about a mile

go left on CR. 309, we will be on the right about a mile down 309.

There
will be signs out with arrows directing you and a banner at the camp site. It's
a real nice area up in the trees. This a State run area, so a Habitat
stamp is needed to ride and camp in this area. They can be purchased anywhere
you get a hunting or fishing license.
