Educate yourself--plan and prepare before you go

Allow for future use of the outdoors--leave it better than you found it

Discover the rewards of responsible recreation

To leave a good impression, you need the right information. Through education, restoration and research, Tread Lightly! empowers generations to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. "We are recreationists of all types, working together to preserve our precious natural heritage." We campaign to replace "user conflict" with "user cooperation". All recreationists must learn to share trails and facilities. All must learn acceptance and good manners.    http://www.sharetrails.org

Why should you join the ATVA?
That depends on you.

Do you enjoy the ways you can use your ATV now?

The ATVA, a division of the 250,000-member American Motorcyclist Association, is currently tracking 97 bills, laws and regulations across the country that affect off-highway vehicle licensing, use and accessibility—34 of which deal specifically with ATVs. Many of these laws directly threaten the future of ATV riding in specific areas. Others would outlaw specific uses of ATVs.

"ABOUT THE ASI

OUR PURPOSE

The ATV Safety Institute (ASI), a not-for-profit division of the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA), was formed in 1988 to implement an expanded national program of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety education and awareness. ASI’s primary goal is to promote the safe and responsible use of ATVs, thereby reducing crashes and injuries that may result from improper operation by the rider."     http://www.atvsafety.org
