The Colorado Quad Runners' Colorado Springs Chapter believes that giving back our
time and energy to the areas where we ride is an important function of our group.
We seek to advocate for ATV and OHV rights and consider building good rapport with
related agencies as very proactive.
We plan clean-up rides where we assist local agencies with clearing trails and
cleaning up trash.
Recent clean-up rides and the hours spent are listed below:
- 06/2005: "Brighten the Sangres" Clean-up
102 hours
Cleared the trail and picked up trash on portions of the Rainbow trail near the Duckett Creek Trailhead and jeep
road 198.
- 03/2006:Lower Phantom Canyon BLM Clean-up
64 hours
9 volunteers attended the clean up.
- 6/2006:Gold Camp #1 Clean-up
51 hours Three OHV users: CMTRA, Christian 4 -Wheelers and the Colorado Quadrunners ATV
club joined together for the first time to work with the US Forest Service on
the Gold Camp 379 trail clean-up Saturday June 10th. This was a great
experience for the different user groups to network on a specific project
working together toward the upkeep of the trails. CMTRA (Colorado Motorcycle
Trail Riders Association) spearheads this clean-up effort. The president of
CMTRA mentioned they may be rebuilding trails in the 717 Haymen burn area this
year and may need our help. He'll get in touch with us later.
